THE OPTOMETRISTS BOARD OF THE A.C.T.

2. Terms of Reference

To administer the Optometrists Act 1956. Principal functions include:

• registration of suitably qualified optometrists to enable them to practice in the A.C.T.;

• disciplining of practitioners, through reprimand/suspension/cancellation of registration

after due inquiry on specified grounds;

• consideration of complaints against registered practitioners and review of accounts or

fees; and

• general oversight of the conduct of the profession in the A.C.T
