ACT Health—committees
(Question No 2139)

Mrs Dunne asked the Minister for Health and Wellbeing, upon notice, on 15 February 2019:

(1) What committees, with the exception of assurance committees, are currently active in (a) ACT Health and (b) Canberra Health Services.

(2) What are the responsibilities of each of these committees.

(3) Who are the members of each of these committees.

(4) Which of these committees (a) have a full complement of members and (b) is fully operational.

(5) For any committees that do not have a full complement of members or are fully operation, why not.

(6) How often does each committee meet.

(7) To whom does each committee report and what information is reported.

(8) What action is taken to implement any recommendations made by committees.

(9) What service delivery innovations have been introduced to the ACT’s health system as a result of the work of these committees during the 2014-15 to 2017-18 period.

Ms Fitzharris: The answer to the member’s question is as follows:

(1)

(a) The following committees are active in the ACT Health Directorate:

- The Directorate Leadership Committee;

- The Corporate Executive Committee; and

- The Health Policy Systems and Research Committee.

(b) As the nature of this request is resource intensive, please find attached (Attachment A) a list of all relevant high level Canberra Health Services committees. ACT Health Directorate and Canberra Health Services are in the process of reviewing and refining governance structures following the transition into two directorates.

(2) The ACT Health Directorate Leadership Committee:

- determines the strategic direction, priorities and objectives for the ACT Health Directorate and the Public Health System, as a whole;

- ensures there is clear and effective governance, including discussion on new and emerging issues, opportunities and risks;
