time because of their passionate belief in making a better Canberra and a better planet. Finally, I congratulate our campaign leadership team, Maiy Azize and Sophie Trevitt, who led our team so ably and with such conviction and with such energy through the course of the campaign.
Over the past few months the Greens have spoken to tens of thousands of Canberrans and we have heard them loudly and clearly. Canberrans want their voices to be heard in the Assembly. They want to have confidence that decisions are being made with them and not just for them, and they want to be represented by politicians who are not afraid to stand up for issues that are important and to confront challenging issues.
The Greens are determined to put the community back at the front and centre of our Assembly. We have a clear vision for our city and our future. We believe in a Canberra that has fast and efficient public transport, a Canberra where everyone has somewhere safe and decent to live and a Canberra where Canberrans can have confidence in our democracy. We can assure the community and our colleagues in this place that they are the issues that we will continue to strive to make progress on so that Canberra can be the best possible city for all of us.
