Proposed new clause 3A
Page 1, line 8-
After clause 3, insert the following clause:3A. Oath or affirmation to be taken or made by a coroner or deputy coroner
Section 10 of the Principal Act is amended by omitting subsection (1) and substituting the following subsection:"(1) A coroner or deputy coroner shall not perform a function or duty of his or her office until he or she has taken or made-
(a) an oath or affirmation in accordance with Part 1 of Schedule 1; or
(b) an oath or affirmation in accordance with Part 2 of Schedule 1".

Page 2, line l-
Omit the Schedule, substitute the following Schedule:I, [name], do swear that I will be faithful and bear true allegiance to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Second, her heirs and successors according to law, that I will well and truly serve her in the office of (insert name of office) and that I will do right to all manner of people according to law, without fear or favour, affection or ill will. So help me God.
I, [name], do solemnly and sincerely affirm that I will be faithful and bear true allegiance to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Second, her heirs and successors according to law, that I will well and truly serve her in the office of (insert name of office) and that I will do right to all manner of people according to law, without fear or favour, affection or ill will.
