MR RUGENDYKE: First of all, I would like to congratulate Ms Carnell and Mr Stanhope on their respective appointments. I would also like to inform the Assembly that I take my seat as an Independent. I am deeply honoured to be able to do so. I advise the people of Canberra that I am here to work for the people of Ginninderra and Canberra. I also notice that there are representatives of the surrounding region present in the gallery. I advise them that they have my full support in making the whole of the Canberra region the greatest place on earth in which to live, work and succeed.
