2. To undertake cardiac surgery with todays standard of medical technology would

require an investment of approximately $240 000. This would purchase the main

cardiac bypass pumps, backup pumps, heater/coolers and monitors.

3. There is no reason to believe that the Seams cardiac bypass pumps were not

purchased and later correctly disposed of. Accounting records from the period in

question are not available.

4. No further action is required.
