As a result of failures to comply with the

guidelines the Environment Protection Service issued

a Noise Direction-Notice to the National Capital

Motor Sports Club on 13 May 1991, and a Noise

Direction Notice to each of the Fairbairn Park

Control Council and Canberra Automobile Racing

Association on 24 September 1991. All Notices

remain in effect for a period of one year from the

date issued. .

Environment Protection Service inspectors, in conjunction with the State Pollution Control commission, are continuing to conduct a program of random noise level measurements to ensure compliance with the Notices.
